The Coastal Path

Walking from Padstow to Porthcothan along the coastal path is around 20 miles and offers some beautiful views.

Fishing Trips

Leaving from Padstow harbour you can arrange fishing trips trips taking you along the Camel Estuary into the Atlantic Sea.

The Jubiee Queen, built in 1977, has been a firm favourite with visitors to Padstow for many years. Summer coastal cruises run daily (weather and sea conditions permitting) from Padstow around the offshore islands.

Prideaux Place

The Elizabethan Manor House has changed very little in the last four centuries. You can take a tour of the impressive family home which is open from April to October.

Lobster Hatchery

Based in Padstow, The National Lobster Hatchery is a marine conservation, research and education charity. Take a visit to see the young lobsters growing up before they are released as well as their resident giant lobster.

Where to eat

Padstow has many fine places to dine out from international restaurants to cosy cornish pubs, which are supplied with fresh seafood by local fisherman. For that special occasion try one of Rick Stien's famous restaurants (booking always advisable):

The Seafood Restaurant
St Petroc's Bistro
Rick Stein's Cafe

There are several other fine restaurants to try such as:

Margot's Bistro
Paul Ainsworth at No' 6
The Basement

You can also dine Alfresco at the harbourside cafes, and enjoy excellent views of the harbour and boats.
